Welcome to the House Alter Kindergarten
Built in the 1970s, the house used to function as a kindergarten for the local population.
However, since the town of Bad Mitterndorf is constantly growing, the space for the many children became too small and at the end of the old millennium the kindergarten moved to a new building.
The house was bought by a Dutch couple and converted into an apartment building with 4 holiday apartments and an apartment for the owners.
In 2021, the Dutch couple sold the house to another Dutch couple - Corinne Geels and Kees Peerdeman - who partially renovated the apartments and also converted the owner's apartment into a large holiday apartment.
A total of 5 apartments are available to guests in the Old Kindergarten:
The 5-room apartment Narcis on the ground floor for up to 8 people. On the first floor the 2-room apartment Alpenroos for up to 4 people on the east side and the 3-room apartment Edelweiss for up to 6 people on the west side, and on the 2nd floor the 2-room apartment Zilverkruid for up to 4 people on the east side and the 2-room apartment Gentiaan also for up to 4 people on the west side
This means that up to 24 people can stay in the "Alter Kindergarten" house.
All accommodations are equipped with a bathroom with sink, shower and toilet. In addition, there is also a smart flat screen TV in each accommodation - as well as a very well equipped kitchenette.
The two apartments on the 1st floor each have a balcony with a very nice view.
Unlimited WiFi is available throughout the house and can be used free of charge.
There is a washing machine in each apartment. A ski cellar is also available in the "Alter Kindergarten" house. The large garden, the playground equipment and the sauna can be used by all guests of the house.
Pets are NOT allowed in the house.
Because of the ideal location, all attractions in the region can be reached quickly and easily:
In Summer you can swim in Ödensee approx. 10 km away or in Altausseersee and Grundlsee approx. 25 km away, as well as in Alpenbad in Bad Mitterndorf approx. 500 m away. The beautiful R19 cycle path leads in the near the house, as well as several hiking trails such as the Obersdorfer Rundweg etc. Other highlights such as a boat rental at the Salza reservoir, riding opportunities, paragliding, climbing etc. invite you to a great summer vacation.
In Winter, the 180 km long cross-country skiing network passes in the immediate vicinity. You can reach the Tauplitzalm alpine family ski area, approx. 5 km away, by car or with the free ski shuttle bus, which picks you up and brings you back almost directly just about 100 m far from the house. Other highlights in winter such as snowshoeing, tobogganing, horse-drawn sleigh rides, ice skating or winter hikes offer you the perfect winter holiday.
